Hi Gail and Joe,

I too, feel that the insurance is a must for vacation rentals! Accidents will happen and it would be terrible for a vacation to be ruined due to this. Just last month, one of my vacation rental homes had a mishap with a 3 year old and a magenta bottle of nail polish. The little tyke had it dribbled all over the master bedroom off white carpeting. The mom then decided to try to clean it up with............ wait for it.................. BLEACH! Needless to say the carpet was ruined. I filed the claim and it was paid quickly! We were able to get new carpeting installed within days at no expense to the owner! This is just one of the incidents that I have had to use the insurance, but the results are always the same. Quick response and painless execution.

I just had my first experience with filing a Travel Guard Damage Insurance claim and I am extremely pleased. I haven't pushed the Damage Insurance to my guests as I was concerned that if filing a claim I might not get paid or would have to fight for what I would be owed. I had several different items that were damaged by a group of tenants. I took pictures, kept my receipts and filed a claim with the supporting documentation.

I wasn't sure whether Travel Guard would come through, and was very pleased when I received a check in the mail about a week later for the full amount claimed, which was slightly more than my usual security deposit . I am currently pointing out the benefits to the tenants--access to the deposit monies to spend on their vacation and knowing there won't be an unpleasant surprise if something is damaged--and am selling more policies. I am seriously considering requiring Damage Insurance for all future tenants.

Hi Joe,

I have had a great experience with a Travel Guard Damage insurance claim already and I have only been a homeowner in this business since November of 2010. I felt it a benefit to offer the Travel Guard Damage insurance to all guests who rent from us. Not one guest has complained about the $39 added to their rental week. In March as my cleaning crew was in the home after a guest had left noticed one of my closet mirrored doors had a crack in the base. My cleaning crew took a photo and immediately sent me a picture of the damage. I had a handyman give me an estimate and fix the doors. A cost of $220 to replace the doors was something that had to be done whether the insurance coverage paid or not due to the fact I was afraid of someone getting cut on the broken mirrored door. I then filled out a claim form and submitted the photos as proof of the damage along with the written estimate, a very simple form and process all done online. I filled out the form on April 11 and had the check in my hand on April 29! The whole experience made me a believer even more of the insurance program ivacationonline.com offers. It is a win win for everyone, the guest is not contacted at any time during the claim process and it saves the homeowner for making needless claims on the homeowner's insurance policy. I would encourage all homeowners to take advantage of this great Travel Guard Damage Insurance policy.

I was introduced to Travel Guard Damage Insurance through ivacationonline.com. What a piece of mind addition this has been to my vacation rental booking business. I own 5 homes and have always disliked charging renters a security deposit. I always felt that it scared renters away because it increased the amount the had to put out of their pocket. This was costing me rentals. With the travel insurance I actually get more protect with less effort. This has made renting to spring breakers much easier. They sent me a claim # and after I had the furniture repaired I sent in my receipt and received my check with in 2 weeks.

What a relief, the renter was happy, I was happy, and my house was repaired. No fighting with renters, filling out paper work for the credit card company, no charge-backs, and potentially a returning renter. Travel Guard has made vacation property renting a whole lot easier.
